For me it's important that it's portable and Midimix is perfect. I can't - that's why I went with the Midimix and got replacement knobs. If I could afford it, I would go with a few Xone K2s. Behringer BCR32: I cant wait for this, no faders though, but check it out, should be great for mapping to any knobs, also multi-mapping, since they have LED indicators. Really light and small, good for carrying around. Akai Midimix: One more fader then the Launch Control, no LEDS and shitty knobs which need replacement imho.
They are expensive, to expensive I think. Xone K2: they are expandable if you happen to need 4 more channels, build quality should be great and you get a few more buttons and an endless encoder I believe. I think it's a stupid decision and doesn't go well with mapping them to sends. Launch Control XL: it's ancient, most other models have been updated by Novation already (in a good way!!) but maybe they are not interested in updating it? Build quality should be great but here's the problem: The knobs ALL lock in the center position. It just so happened I spent stupid amounts of time researching the very same thing.
